Tripod Bombing
- 2023

Acrylic and marker on canvas

40 x 100 cm

Photography: Lior Harel

The plane is erased/ hidden by a cloud. It is dropping three missiles. The white paint is an aesthetical wink to graffiti erasure. In this context it relates to an airstrike being erased. In many instances of war there are attacks that nobody claims responsibility for or have been denied by the responsible side. The composition is inspired by the aquatic animal - tripod fish. Apart from the inspiring fish, the tripod is also classically a photography accessory - a tool used for capturing and documenting the truth that has recently been more common and less reliable than ever with recent technological advances. I decided to install this painting unconventionally high due to the nature of the subject but also in a site-specific manner so it seems as if it is flying above the wall. Also, so the work will blend with the fluorescent light, composition-wise and to expose and literally shed light.
