A year and a half ago I flew from Jerusalem to the UK on a tourist visa with a dream to stay and now I share a house with a mouse with similar ambitions. PARTY started as a hand-drawn invitation for a small celebration marking my Global Talent visa and my move to England officialising. A purposeful drawing announcing a celebration for all my 'temporary friends' becoming permanent. Although I never use text in my paintings, this new drawing style interested me and deserved more exploring. Animals have always been where my work goes when I'm not looking for a subject. The current one moved in uninvited: my London house has mice, a very charming English problem. The word PARTY, written in a serious all caps black marker filled with emoji-like faces, shares the main stage with the mouse, one arrival painted onto another.
