“Amid the overload of generative images hanging on the glass walls stands Boaz Parnas’s painting Miele Ambrosino - an expressive abstract gesture of aggressive black-and-white lines, resembling a drawing unraveling in the act, set against a pale gray and white background. At the center is a striking red stain, appearing as an eruption - a kind of wound that draws attention away from the absence of a clear image. There are hints of a body or a skeleton, but they dissolve and disappear in the face of the work’s raw, expressive brushstrokes.
At first glance, the exhibition seems to call for resistance - human versus machine. Yet it firmly refuses such a reading. It does not position AI as an external threat to art, but reveals how art already operates through remix, quotation, and recycling. Parnas’s painting itself is based on an existing image: the logo of the Italian honey company Miele Ambrosino, depicting a bee holding a flower. This image does not stand outside the chain of image translation but actively participates in it. The notion of an “original” thus destabilizes: there is no fixed origin, only a network of intermediate stages in which each image is simultaneously a result and a point of departure for others.”
