Self portrait in reference to one of my first ever paintings, also of a porcupine. I painted it during a storm of emotions in a rough period of my life. It is named after a song I like and listened to often at the time. In this painting I abstracted and bounded the sky into a rectangle. The character and painting are "framed" with painted vegetation. Most of the work was painted violently using a painter's knife. The porcupine is light and see through but also very present. It seems as if he is combusting.
